Adding charm to your event

Makeover

Stage Decoration creates the moment! Be it a theme-based event, a small prop-night or a wedding. We all want to be dressed in the best way, then why not light up the whole event with some stage decor? Here’s to a few tips to remember on stage decoration, while you plan your next event.

Tip no 1: Keep it simple: Adding too much to the decor might kill the show. So, keep the stage decoration simple and elegant. If it is for a reception or a wedding, flowers will add the charm. If in case, it is for a kid’s birthday party or a theme-based party, convert the stage into a photo-booth where people can come and create memories with the props.

Images used on this blog is from a first birthday shoot which we did in Chennai, designed by  Andrea's Creations

Tip no 2: Budget: Sometimes, stage decoration might take up a huge budget. So, fix a budget before hand and appoint a stage decoration vendor who falls in your budget. Also, meet a few stage decorators, get quotes from them, check out their past work, ask about the vendor’s work from few people, negotiate and then appoint a vendor. Because this is a one-time thing, we cannot give any chance to any mistakes happening.

Tip no 3: Decoration ideas: Well, with the rise of technology and the boom of the internet, individuals have become smart with time. Yes, you got me right! I am talking about doing some research before hand. Based on your theme look for how people have executed the decorations for their event in the past. This research might help you come up with new ideas and also help you negotiate in many aspects with the event planners. While coming to the wedding decoration, we all know flowers and lights do the magic. Look for flower stage decorations and choose something that goes contrastingly well with your outfit and sets the charming mood. Save a couple of images from the internet, show it to your stage decoration vendor and do a bit of moderation if you want and then here you are all set!

Tip no 4: Photos - Photos: We all want to capture every nook and corner of the event. From the empty hall with no people to the jam-packed hall. We tell our photographers to come well before time to capture the tiniest of things at the event. And, the photographer looks for nothing more than a spot or a stage which calls for attention. If you are decorating your stage with the photo-booth concept then assist your guests to the spot to capture some reminiscing moments.

These are the basic tips, you might have more to suggest or add, do comment with a few more tips one should look out for while considering stage decoration. All the best for your upcoming events and craft a stage that is simple, elegant and stays in the mind forever! Roses or props, the choice is yours!

Walking across Mylapore

We took a heritage walk through Mylapore which was organised by Houses of Mylapore, who are doing an amazing job by documenting the heritage houses which is sadly disappearing.

The walk was very informative and we would suggest anyone who loves to know more about the old school architecture, people who love old world charm or simply if you would like to know more about the city's past.

Mylapore is culturally and historically rich, where the old-world charm is spread all over the place, the epicentre for tambrahm culture in the city, a paradise for retro aficionado people like us. This is one of the few places in the city which is still connected with Madras, you don't normally see a name board of a shop with "Madras" written on it anymore but there are plenty of name boards and sign boards with Madras.

Soon we will be starting a separate space of our documentary works and street photography and we are happy that we started it with the heritage walk celebrating the Madras week 2017. Thanks to Houses of Mylapore for making this happen.

A few pictures from the walk - 20th August, 2017.

Once again a kids outdoor shoot

Though we claim ourselves to be professional wedding photographers in Chennai, guess we are doing more kids shoots than weddings! Saathvik who did his first ever outdoor shoot last year on the eve of his first birthday - which had gone viral to some extent and became a benchmark for us in our future kid's outdoor shoots. Most of the parents who have booked us to shoot their kids would often show his pictures for measuring standards. Saathivk has grown, lost his hair, runs faster than before but didn't loose his charm. Sharing a few pictures from his second outdoor shoot before celebrating his second birthday.

To the Giggles and the Bedtime Stories

To the Giggles and the Bedtime Stories

Well, most of the time our grandparents are the ones who teach us how life works with their wonderful moral stories. They teach us religion, they teach us humanity, with their stories they build a capable future through you.

Yes, this blog talks about a bond of a grandparent and a grandchild. This bond that the two share is so unique and strong. It is like two generations meet and make the best of their time together. They share a bond of best friends. They wait for the time they can be together and share those pettiest things of their whole long day.

Ever imagined a life without grandparents? If so, then you are missing out on the best times of your life. When you were small and your parents were busy with office and home, they were the ones who put you off to sleep with a melodious lullaby. They took you to the play area and bought you that secret ice-cream. They taught you how to walk, how to see the world. They showed you history, they showed you the future. Your grandparents prepared you for the best and worst, since your childhood.

When they grow even older, hold on to them more strongly. Because the more love you share with them, the younger they feel at their age. So make them feel young with your bond and keep them happy always. When two generations bond together, the family stays more intact and happy always. Take them for the evening walk, take them to those cafe joints and share your talks over a cup of coffee. Do not forget to take selfies with them, because when they pose, they look as adorable as a kid.
